けれど、その道具は思っている以上に見られています。

テーブルの上に置かれたとき。
名刺を差し出すとき。

派手ではないけれど、
その人の仕事への姿勢が、ふっと伝わる。

そんな名刺入れを作りました。

■40年の家具づくりから生まれた、小さな箱

私は40年、注文家具を作ってきました。
大きなテーブルや椅子、収納家具。

その中で感じてきたのは、
「小さいものほど、ごまかしが効かない」ということ。

厚み、木目の出方、削りの加減。
ほんのわずかな違いが、そのまま表情になります。

この名刺入れには、
大きな家具づくりで積み重ねてきた感覚を、そのまま込めています。

■カエデという木

カエデは、きめが細かく、明るくやわらかな木肌を持つ木です。

強い主張はありません。
けれど、静かな品があります。

名刺を差し出したとき、
相手の視線がほんの一瞬止まる。

「それ、木ですか？」

そんな会話が生まれることがあります。

使い込むほどに少しずつ飴色へ。
時間とともに深みを増していきます。

■木目がつながるつくり

この名刺入れは、もともと一つの塊だった木から生まれています。

同じ材の塊から、ふたと本体を切り分け、
そこから形を整えています。

そのため、ふたと本体の年輪は自然につながっています。

加工の過程でわずかに削られるため、
完全に寸分違わず一致するわけではありません。

けれど、上下に通る木目の流れを見ると、
もともと一つだった木の呼吸が、そのまま残っています。

さらに、蓋を閉める方向を間違えないように、
蓋と本体の間に「Hayama Woodworks Studio」のロゴを小さく刻んでいます。

目立たない場所ですが、
機能とデザインを兼ねた、ささやかなチャームポイントです。

気づいたときに、少し嬉しくなる。
そんな小さなこだわりです。

◇天然木について
・木目、色味、節の入り方には個体差があります。
・同じものは一つとしてありません。

◇使用上のご注意
・強い衝撃は破損の原因になります。
・極度の乾燥・湿気は反りや割れの原因になります。
・直射日光を避けて保管してください。

◇写真について
・光の加減や閲覧環境により色味が多少異なる場合があります。
・商品は名刺入れ本体のみです。

◇配送
・在庫あり：2〜3営業日以内発送
・在庫なし：制作に約4週間

■ A Small Box Born from 40 Years of Furniture Making

For 40 years, I have been crafting custom furniture—
large tables, chairs, storage pieces.

What I’ve learned over the years is this:
the smaller the object, the less room there is to hide imperfections.

Thickness.
Grain direction.
The slightest adjustment in shaping.

Even the smallest differences become visible.

In this card case, I’ve poured the same sensibility
I developed through decades of building furniture.

■ Maple Wood

Maple is known for its fine, smooth grain
and its bright, gentle surface.

It does not make a bold statement.
Instead, it carries a quiet elegance.

When you hand someone your business card,
their eyes may pause for just a second.

“Is that wood?”

Sometimes, a simple conversation begins there.

With use, the pale surface gradually deepens into a warm amber tone.
Over time, it develops greater character.

■ Continuous Grain from a Single Block

This card case originates from a single solid block of wood.

The lid and the body are cut from the same piece,
then carefully shaped into form.

Because of this, the grain flows naturally
from the lid into the base.

During the shaping process, a small amount of material is removed,
so the grain does not align with perfect precision.

But when you look closely,
you can still sense the continuity—
the quiet “breath” of what was once a single piece of wood.

To prevent closing it in the wrong direction,
a small “Hayama Woodworks Studio” logo is engraved
between the lid and the body.

It is subtle and discreet—
a small detail that combines function and design.

A quiet charm you may only notice after using it.
